Floral Pavilion Concert
April 2 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm BSTFree
Simply Singing, based in the Floral Pavilion New Brighton, was formed in 2010. They are 100 strong and regularly get 80 or so to their weekly rehearsals. They come together for fun, friendship and the health benefits that singing brings. They are mixed voices and their repertoire is pretty genera. Like Wayfarers, they collect for charity throughout the year.
One of their claims to fame is that they had the opportunity to sing to the Queen, on the occasion of a commemorative plaque being unveiled on the new Floral Pavilion building.
The Simply Singing organisation also has three other choirs, in Manchester. They occasionally bring the groups together to put on ‘flash mobs’ in public places where seemingly unrelated people start singing and dancing.
Each year they hold a concert for friends, family and the public. In 2019, Wayfarers Chorus have been invited to open the concert and will be singing a 20 minute set from 1:00pm, following which The Pavilion choir will sing a forty-five minute set.
The concert will take place in the ‘Blue Lounge’. There is no admission fee, but donations are invited for their current charity.
