The end of course Social Evening
When we were planning the Learn To Sing course we decided it would be a good idea to hold a social evening after the final week of the course. We thought it would allow our students and their partners to get to know the chorus members and our partners. Being the day after a Bank Holiday we weren’t sure how many people would turn up, so we were thrilled to have a room full on Tuesday night.
In addition to having plenty of time to chat, the chorus sang two sets of three songs. Three of the members formed a trio and sang a number of Everley Brothers songs (with guitar accompaniment). One of our quartets sang a couple of non-chorus numbers and finally the students joined the chorus on the risers, to show how well they had learned the two new songs.
All in all it was a really good evening and I’m pretty sure everybody enjoyed themselves.
Next week is back to the normal routine for the chorus members. We have a sing-out at Meols Hall on June 12, so we will be sharpening our repertoire in readiness. Despite that, we will be delighted to see any or all of our students come back for more.
