Wayfarers – The Chorus With Two Heads!

That got your attention!

In June, the Wayfarers Chorus said a fond farewell to Barry Nowell, who retired after his second stint as our Musical Director. Barry became our MD just before the Covid lockdown in 2020 and his ability to coach us over Zoom played a big part in keeping the chorus together. Any number of choruses fell by the wayside in those dark days, but Wayfarers is still up and running.

Finding a new MD for a Barbershop style a cappella chorus is not an easy task and the search for Barry’s replacement continues. However, we have no cause to panic as we now have two talented Assistant MDs, sharing the workload between them and being ably supported by one of our other members, who takes on some of the conducting.

Whilst we would still like to increase the number of singers (see our contact form if you are interested), we have now re-achieved performance worthiness in most of our repertoire and are available to entertain you at your functions.

The future of the planet may be grim, but the Wayfarers Chorus will be there to sing us out.
