The ‘Men In Black’ section of Wayfarers Chorus recently gave a performance at Peacehaven House Care Home in Southport, ably conducted by Eric Simpson.
The performance was one of those occasions in which all of our rehearsals paid off. The audience was thoroughly engaged, singing along where they knew the songs. One or two were moved to tears by two of our ballads, almost causing some members of the chorus to follow suit.
As has become traditional, we ended our performance with ‘Irish Blessing’.
After a somewhat quiet bookings period, it is very satisfying to approach a busy time with such a successful and moving performance.
