On Tuesday 18 June, the Wayfarers Chorus held their final rehearsal before the charity concert, which takes place on Friday 21 June and is jointly organised by Wayfarers and Southport Rotary. This year the concert is on behalf of Cancer Research UK and is also a celebration of the chorus’ 30 years of singing.

In addition to the important final rehearsal, all current chorus members were presented with a memento of the 30th anniversary, in the form of a whiskey tasting glass engraved with the club’s logo. The mementos are also being presented to certain ex members, or their family, who until recently had been long standing members.

The glasses were presented to the chorus by Colin Wayte (MD) and Roger Fieldhouse (President), both of whom have been members since the chorus was founded.

The chorus is now looking forward to the next 30 years and wondering whether, on that anniversary, they will get a bottle of whiskey to go with the glass!
